The Secrets to Overcoming Life's Lows
Reigniting Your Inner Fire π₯
You know when life feels like one of those crazy, never-ending corn mazes, and finding our way out seems terrifying? Did I just go into Fall mode, and why am I thinking about that Hubie Halloween movie?? π½
To see the light at the end of the tunnel, you must step into the darkness and trust your dreams will come true with each action you take. Instead of sitting there in your down-and-out state of mind, use it as fuel for growth (side note: don't watch that movie). πΏ
Today, let's explore strategies to help you navigate those challenging moments when you feel lost and overwhelmed. πΊοΈ
Self-Evaluation: First, let's talk about how you care for yourself. Be honest. Are you getting enough quality sleep? Are you moving your body with regular exercise? Is your diet nourishing you? Are you practicing self-care? Check how you spend your days because it can reveal why you feel stuck. The truth is that self-care and well-being are intertwined. If you need to take better care of yourself, it's no surprise you might not feel your best. So, make a commitment to prioritize health and well-being. Do this first. π±
Practice Self-Care: Exercise is my go-to medicine. Going for a run or doing a workout class always helps. Dedicate time to self-care activities that make you feel nurtured and supported. Going to the gym forces you to interact with others and talk about the weather. All of this helps. Whether taking a bath, getting a massage, or making brownies and ice cream, prioritize your well-being. There's no harm in taking a break when motivation is running low. Dive into Believe IT, by Jamie Kern Lima, or connect with others who inspire you (ME!). Watch Ted Lasso or listen to Jasmine Star. Step back, recharge, and return with a fresh perspective. BUT DO NOT open that bottle of wine. The answer you're looking for is not in there. π·π π»ββοΈ
Write it Out: Putting your thoughts and feelings into words can help you gain clarity and perspective. Use a journal as a safe space to explore your emotions and find solutions. You know how I feel about writing. It helps flush out the thoughts in your head into vocabulary. Therefore, you have to explain yourself. And going through that process helps put things in perspective when you can contemplate what you just wrote. π
Plan Exciting Future Moments: Think about exciting things ahead β a dinner date, a weekend getaway, or tomorrow morning's sunrise. And if you can't think of something, PLAN IT! Put something on the calendar that will lift your spirits about the future. It'll remind you that your current situation is temporary and brighter days are on the horizon. π
You have the inner resilience to emerge from this slump with newfound wisdom and strength. πͺ
Losing motivation is natural and is not a sign of failure. It's a chance to realign your focus and get back on track. Drill down to the exact reason for what's bugging you. And then do something about it. Every day is different. Wake up and be excited about what can happen! Your focus determines your focus, so make sure it's on something positive. π
Love you. Gotta go. Bye.
xoxo
