Open if you're procrastinating like I am
You know how sometimes you sit there for a really long time thinking about the next step of your plan but constantly get distracted by life and can never actually pull the trigger?
Yeah, me neither. 🫣
I had "write newsletter" on my list for months, and I'd look at it and get overwhelmed. There were too many things to figure out, but I couldn't take it off my list.
You know what it's like, and I'm sure there's something on your list staring at you. But instead of starting, you put it off for another day. Maybe even another week. No matter how often you tell yourself that you will make time on Sunday when there are no distractions, you eat breakfast, go to Target, and suddenly, it's been five months.
So I figured this would be an excellent place to start with my first newsletter. To talk about procrastination in the newsletter I procrastinated on. But now I feel proud that I did it.
Two points I'm making:
It's NEVER too late to start.
You CAN figure it out.
BONUS POINT: don't beat yourself up for waiting so long. Instead, congratulate yourself for doing it! 👏
Here's where I tell you stuff like true stories and metaphors that will inspire you to do something to get you going. The key is that you have to do it TODAY. That's my thing (they don't call me Today with Tamara for nothing). 😄
Below is a confidence quiz to assess your confidence level. This is a fun way to see your benchmark of where you're at today, and in 6 months, let's do it again after you read my newsletters filled with confidence-boosting tips and see how that number has jumped (it will or your money back)!
OK. Here’s where we say, “Love you. Gotta go. Bye.” (LYGGB) bc we can sit here allllllll day and talk about it, but you ACTUALLY have to get up and GO do the thing!!!.
So on that note, BYEEEEEE! 🙌
xoxoxo

Please answer the following questions on a scale of 1 to 5, where one strongly disagrees and five strongly agrees:
I believe in my abilities and strengths.
I am comfortable expressing my opinions and ideas.
I handle criticism well and see it as an opportunity for growth.
I take on new challenges and embrace change.
I trust myself to make decisions and take responsibility for the outcomes.
I feel comfortable asserting myself and setting boundaries.
I view failures as learning experiences and bounce back quickly.
I feel deserving of success and am not easily discouraged by setbacks.
I can accept compliments graciously and recognize my accomplishments.
I have a positive self-image and accept myself for who I am.
Once you've answered these questions, calculate your confidence score and discuss the results.
Here's how I scored: 3 4 4 5 4 5 4 5 5 5
Add up your responses. My score is 44.
Since there were ten questions in total, calculate the average score by dividing the total score by the number of questions:
44 / 10 = 4.4.
Interpreting your score:
If your average score is 1-2: It indicates relatively low confidence in various areas.
If your average score is 3-4: It suggests a moderate confidence level, with some areas for improvement.
If your average score is 5: It reflects a high confidence level in general.
Based on my average score of 4.4, I have moderate to high confidence across these areas (remember, this is not a competition). Confidence can vary depending on different aspects of life, and this quiz provides only a snapshot.
Shoot me your score, and let's talk about it! 🙋🏼♀️
Stuff to help you take action TODAY:
Write with confidence. And I mean by using Grammarly. I got hooked on using this service years ago and use it daily. Like ALL day long. I check my content, my emails, and even this newsletter (and if you don't believe me, copy and paste this to see)!
I encourage you to try it for FREE. I pay for an upgraded service, and it's the best money spent. You can probably get your employer to buy it for you. Now I write much better and feel more confident when I'm out there taking action that at least my words are grammatically correct, even if I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. 😜
Tamara’s fav things this week:
I took MASSIVE action and made a logo and new merch 😳💩(that’s me pooping my pants). I don’t know what I’m doing, but I know I have to, so I’m figuring it out. And I’m sharing this with you because you have to do the same, and I think it’s less scary when we do it together.
When I started making merch, I said the deal is that you must take action when you put it on. So when you get dressed, you’re like, “OK, I’m gonna put this on and then go do the thing bc I can do it, and today’s the day.” Look good, feel good, right?! So that’s why I make this stuff. Plus, it’s in super FUN colors and so freaking happy it makes people look at you and be like, damn! She’s confident! 🤩
And yes, we will be sold out of the pink sweatshirt first bc the Barbie 💖is coming out 7/21, and apparently, the world has run out of pink, so you better get yours today (you knew I was going to say that).
DM me your order, and I’ll get you on the list. She who hesitates has lost! 🛍
PS I'm an affiliate for some of the products I link to, so I'll make a small commission if you buy. Thank you so much for supporting the newsletter and this mission, and please forward it to your friends. I just noticed that “mission” is in “commission,” fun fact!
