How to get out of your own way

VIP Invite: May 19 πŸ–πŸΉ

Today, I want to share something that gets the best of us at some point, and it's the absolute worst: being in your own way. You know, those moments when you feel stuck in a rut, held back by your thoughts, fears, or habits. Well, it almost just happened to me, so I want to share some tips and tricks to help you break free from self-imposed limitations and start living the life you've only dared to dream.

Tap to read my IG post.

The biggest lesson about all this is when you hold yourself back, you're just hurting yourself. If you keep stopping yourself or doing things because you feel like they are all watching you, honey, honestly, they aren't. And even if they are, which I see you now watching me, I hope you take this as a lesson that I would much rather learn and grow than worry about looking like a fool. I have so much I want to do, and I won't let something like a negative thought stop me. I have a WHY that's so BIG that I will keep going no matter what. And I will be super honest about the help I need and surround myself with beautiful souls who want the same.

Now let's dive in on some tips:

  1. Self-Reflection: Take a moment to pause and reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and actions. What patterns do you notice? This is the first step towards understanding and overcoming what's holding you back. Why do you keep feeling this way?

  2. Challenge Negative Self-Talk: Recognize and challenge any negative self-talk or limiting beliefs you may have. Flip the script and replace those negative thoughts with positive and empowering ones. Use my favorite word, YET, for any negative talk: I haven't figured it out yet.

  3. Stay Open-Minded: Stay open-minded and flexible, especially when faced with challenges or setbacks. Approach situations with curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow. I would much rather spend time looking for solutions than sitting here in a pity party for one.

  4. Seek Support: Don't hesitate to seek support from friends, family, or mentors. IT'S WHY THEY WERE INVENTED! Talking through challenges with someone else can provide fresh perspectives and insights.

  5. Set Realistic Goals: Break down your goals into smaller, achievable steps. AND THEN TAKE THEM. I also make sure I get some alone time to reflect and adjust my goals as needed to keep going.

  6. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and practice self-compassion. Not everything you do is going to be a win. OBVI, YOU'RE HUMAN. You're still awesome even when you trip and fall - so get back up and keep going!

  7. Take Action: Take small, manageable steps toward your goals, even if you feel unsure or afraid. Action breeds momentum and confidence. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN. TAKE THE STEPS, GF! And start today.

  8. Embrace Failure as Learning: See failure as a natural learning process. View setbacks as opportunities for growth and resilience rather than reasons to give up.

  9. Focus on What's Within Control: Concentrate on what you can control rather than dwelling on things you can't. I don't care if that is harder said than done. You have to channel your energy into productive actions and solutions. Stop wasting time.

  10. Celebrate Progress: Finally, celebrate your progress and achievements, no matter how small. Every win (and failure, let's be honest), big or small, is worth celebrating. We all say this, but what does that look like for you? I book a massage for the day after a big event.

Remember, you have the power to break free from self-imposed limitations and start living authentically and boldly. So embrace the journey, and be proud of yourself for taking the steps. You always have a choice: stubbornly cling to your ego out of pride or acknowledge that things need to change and do something about it. Hot tip: choose the latter.

And now, as we come full circle, I invite you to join me on this journey of growth and empowerment. Let's celebrate the power of humility, collaboration, and self-discovery together. The event that we created because I got out of my own way.
