Finding Your Potential👌

How to Embrace the Power of Action

Yesterday my son forgot his lunch box at camp. Instead of leaving it for tomorrow, you know what I did. I had to take care of it today. And that tiny action, that simple step, changed everything. 👈

You see, as I returned to retrieve it, the camp director was there, and he also runs the after-school program. And for some reason, I told him about my TWT vision. And my hopes and dreams, and goals. And how they could be a part of his program (and if you know me, I started spewing out all of these ideas and kept going and going).💡And wouldn't you know it, he was nodding and asking me questions, and we talked for OVER AN HOUR. I had nowhere else to be. Forget making dinner. Forget doing the laundry. THIS was my mission. I was supposed to be there at that moment, sharing my story.

This chance encounter taught me a profound lesson: taking action can lead to unimaginable possibilities.

It's easy to dismiss moments like these as coincidences, but they're opportunities waiting for us. It's about recognizing those moments, seizing them, and making them your own.

Here's how you can embrace the power of action:

1. Embrace the Unexpected: Life is full of surprises. Don't be afraid to step into the unknown. That unexpected conversation, that unplanned detour – they could be the catalyst for something incredible. Some of the best days are those random ones where you're like, WOW, I didn't see that coming! SO BYE. 👋🏻 Don't shrink back or wait until tomorrow.

2. Share Your Story: Your story is unique, and it has the potential to inspire and connect. 💯 Don't keep your hopes, dreams, and goals hidden. Let others see your passion, and you might find an unexpected ally. IF YOU DON'T SHARE, HOW WILL THEY KNOW? They will not come to life if I don't discuss my hopes and dreams. If I don't ask people questions, get their feedback, and do it daily, it will never get anywhere. TALK—a LOT. TO EVERYONE.

3. Carve Out Time: We often need more time to stop and engage in conversations. Make time for those unplanned interactions. Sometimes, the most significant opportunities arise when you least expect them. GF, how you spend your time is so important. Most of our days are spent doing literally nothing that will get you anywhere. Don't tell me you're too busy. TOO BUSY DOING WHAT?? 🤷‍♀️ Make the time for what actually matters in life. FOCUS. No excuses. I could have run home after some quick small talk. BUT NO. I felt like I had more to say. I knew I had the time, so I took it. And that's how you'll be successful—putting yourself first—putting your dreams first.

4. Overcome Self-Doubt: Self-doubt is natural, but don't let it hold you back. Silence that inner critic that tells you to stay quiet. Your dreams are worth sharing, and your voice deserves to be heard. 📣 Once you get used to sharing, once you get out of your way and realize that if you want things to happen in your life, YOU have to get out of your freaking way! YES. I'm so fired up about this bc we spend SO MUCH of our time doubting ourselves when we could have spent that time going for it! STOP WASTING YOUR LIFE AWAY. 🛑

5. Challenge Your Comfort Zone: Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone. I HATE hearing the overused phrase "comfort zone." STOP TALKING ABOUT IT AND TAKE THE DARN ACTION. 👏 Taylor Swift doesn't stay at home in her comfort zone, and we LOVE her for that. Simone Biles came jumping out of retirement, and we LOVE her for that. And look at me (I did not just put myself in that group, but don't mind if I do!). I'm out here talking to people and doing my thing and sharing my thoughts, and you LOVE me for that. I could do NONE OF THIS. And where would that get me? NOWHERE. So push yourself through the momentary discomfort to achieve personal growth, overcome fears, and reach new levels of success. Do it. Go right now. Finish reading first, and then go.🚦

6. Examine Your Excuses: Take a moment to analyze the excuses that hold you back. 🙇‍♀️ Are they real obstacles or just barriers you've created in your mind? Identify them, challenge them, and watch them crumble. I double dare you to take out a pen and paper and write down what's stopping you. Then I want you to look at what you wrote. Like, really look at it. Read it out loud. Is what you wrote a fact or something you made up in your head? 💭Then I want you to flip the script. Write the opposite. So if you wrote I'm not smart enough, you cross that out and write I'm smart enough. And then look at that line every time you doubt yourself and realize it was just an excuse. Feel free to light a flame on that piece of paper and watch those words burn into the dust of the past. 🔥

7. Say "Yes" to Opportunity: Instead of hesitating, start saying "yes" to unexpected opportunities. 🙌 You never know where they might lead. Embrace the unknown and embrace your potential. Have you read Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes? Get a copy. Ever since I read that book, I have had this "say yes" voice that pushes me to go for it. And I hope you hear me adding the word "today." 🙋🏼‍♀️

8. Trust Your Intuition: Sometimes, your gut feeling knows best. Listen to your intuition, and be open to what it's telling you. It could be guiding you toward a path you never considered. How often have you said I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MY GUT? 🤦‍♀️The only way to stop having that regret is to listen to it in the first place. We are SO BUSY making sure everyone else agrees - that everyone else approves - that we don't listen to ourselves. Stop worrying about everyone else and do your thing. Get Untamed by Glennon Doyle while you're at it.

9. Embrace Fear: Fear is a natural part of growth. Embrace it as a sign that you're stepping into uncharted territory. Acknowledge your fears, but don't let them dictate your choices. USE YOUR FEARS AS FUEL. ⛽️I have a problem with the word fearless. I don't like saying oh, she's fearless! Bc that word means "free from fear." And no one is that. Fear is a natural and universal human emotion. It is a survival mechanism that alerts us to potential dangers and threats. Some people may LOOK more fearless than others due to their ability to manage and confront their fears. These people often have developed coping strategies, self-confidence & the willingness to take risks. They might also have a mindset that allows them to view challenges as growth opportunities rather than insurmountable obstacles. The difference is how you respond to fear and whether you allow it to hold you back or use it as a motivator to take action. I like fear. It's a sign that we're curious. It's like, hey, you can do it, it's okay to be scared, but you have to try. 🫣

10. Take Action Today: The moment to act is now. Don't wait for the perfect time because it may never come. Today is yours to start living the life you'd only dared to dream. Enough said. ✌🏻

TWT Event Update: For those who live near Beverly Farms, MA, the Magnolia Pier, where we would take The Leap, is closed due to construction. Instead of giving up, we will pivot and take The Plunge at West Beach. And it's going to be a sunrise dip. 🌅 Bc that's how you take action and build confidence by doing things out of your (don't make me say comfort zone) usual routine.

It's FREE, and it's for you to feel this experience. Even if you don't go in the water, which we will do together, holding hands for support if you want, it's to be in this circle with other women who are just trying the darn thing. 🙆‍♀️ We’re all just going through life day in and day out, and we want something meaningful - to connect with others - to talk about what's holding us back, and to take new steps with more confidence. I'm doing this bc I know it's important.

These are the things that change us. So please come. I'd love to share this experience with you. See you there. Get ready to change your life. You never know.

PLEASE RSVP FOR A HEAD COUNT.
